is TRULY serving YOU !!
PERSONAL BACKGROUND
I grew up in Clovis, NM.
Both sides of my family were involved in farming and ranching.
Hard work was a way of life.
I remember taking one out-of-state vacation.
But it wasn’t something we missed or talked about.
People just didn’t make a big deal about vacations back then.
We enjoyed New Mexico hunting, fishing and backpacking.
My dad helped me start my first business at age 19 – custom harvesting.
Since then, I’ve had seven different small businesses.
Two I was able to build up and sell.
Three I just made an ok living and learned quite a bit from those as well.
I currently run two now.
The businesses were in different industries.
-- Agriculture
-- Automotive repair
-- Construction
-- Environmental
-- Trucking
--Wholesale Distribution
That diversity and experience has helped me understand the business climate as a whole.
I got married a little late in life and have been hitched to the same good woman for 30 years.
We have 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
You can see I have deep roots in New Mexico.
I know businesses and their needs…
If we can help businesses, they will help the people…
It’s really not just about collecting taxes and issuing permits.
On my education side of the formula I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration…
So handling the Treasury Department or any business really, is what I went to college to learn about.
DOING THE JOB
The duties of the Treasurer is to watch to make sure the taxes collected from the residents of Bernalillo are being taken care of properly… the office has about 35 people that take care of our Bernalillo residents.
Being the elected Treasurer — is about making sure the calendar of events and tasks needed to keep the wheels of government finance turning smoothly — keep turning smoothly.
Keeping the County commissioners appraised of the impact of any proposed spending is another aspect of the job… because the commissioners often don’t have the detail they need, the Treasurer gathers the data and presents it for them to make good informed decisions.
Looking at the records, a good Treasurer is on the lookout for any unusual spending, or if money is being spent on projects that are not bearing fruit for our citizens and makes those findings available to the Commission.
The Treasurer also needs to make sure that the funds collected are safe from Cyber attacks…
As you may or not know…
We had a really close call a couple of years ago… where we we subject to having to pay Cyber ransom… so I’ll be setting up a schedule of Cyber Security Intrusion Testing to keep our citizens money safe. I have already gotten some expert advice in this area in anticipation of being the Treasurer and I know the County is not doing this right now… but I won’t say more about that until I work with the Treasury Department team members and get them involved.
These people know what they are doing, many have been in the department for many years and are doing a great job… I always like to bring staff in one on one… very confidential — just me and them… to learn what is working great, and what is not working so great…
THEY know what’s good and bad…
After a couple of rounds of that over maybe 6 weeks… then we can start to look at tuning the system better… unless there is something ugly that needs immediate attention.
THE CHALLENGE
Let's get to the REAL problems facing New Mexicans…
No jobs, Crime, Cash Bail, trying to force EV’s on poverty stricken Democrats…
Jacking up the fuel tax by 80 cents a gallon in 2025 beginning just after this election is over in 2025… ever wonder why they timed it that way, after this election?
Are the people barely able to feed their family, drive their cars, pay their rent… going to be good at paying taxes?
Are businesses struggling to not raise their prices going to be forced to raise prices to the point where fewer and fewer can afford them…
Worse… many will move out of New Mexico because of the policies shoved downed our throats by Santa Fe?
Santa Fe seems to be a problem creator, not a problem solvers… they won’t deal with crime, they are trying to put Gun Stores and Car Dealers out of business…
Electrifying the parking lots of Apartment buildings at about $18K per charging station is going to make rents go up for sure .
Those chargers are already being torn apart for the copper.. in this high poverty state… it’s a silly disaster…
Worse — Santa Fe is trying to kill the golden goose of our Oil and Gas industry that provided a HUGE amount of money to the state.
We could give away gasoline for free instead of taxing the poorest citizens in the USA, an extra 80 cents per gallon...
That's very strange, wouldn't you agree?
Homelessness...
20,000 fewer students but 10 new schools… during the exact same period of time…
New Mexico has the worst educational results in America — 53rd when you factor in Military Base Schools, Washington DC and Puerto Rico.

You can’t attract businesses when the population can’t read or do math…
Remember Eclipse Aviation?
They couldn’t find enough educated people in Albuquerque to be able to function properly, yes, there were other problems for sure.
Eclipse had a workforce of 1800 people.
A high tech industry that would have spun up even more jobs if they had survived.
All that disappeared my firends…
People, it can’t get any worse.
I would really like to believe it really can't get much worse…
But it will unless the traditional Democrat voters continue to vote Democrat knowing full well that the reason we are in this horrific mess is because of almost 100 years of PURE Democrat control.
That’s why those that can truly see the truth of our situation, need to share a good objective look at what spending is happening with those that need to have their eyes opened...
It is simple history... not being mean...
It's just the facts, pure and simple.
